FOODS AND DRINKS WITH AMAZING BENEFITS FOR ORAL HEALTH

Do you want to keep your teeth strong, healthy and in your mouth for a lifetime? Eating the right foods can contribute to good oral health. There are certain foods that provide beneficial nutrients that strengthen teeth and gums and help protect against various oral diseases.

Yoghurt, milk and cheese

Any type of healthy dairy product has calcium, which helps strengthen bones and teeth. Yogurts and cheese are ideal as they contain these vitamins and minerals, and are also soft for teeth that need extra care. Milk is also good for teeth as it contains about the same nutrients and vitamins.

Spinach

Any dark, green vegetable is actually good not only for your body but also for your teeth. Spinach, although known for its iron levels, also contains high levels of calcium that help rebuild enamel, making it a great addition to any dish.

Almonds

Healthy snacks like almonds can really help with many dental problems. They are great for your teeth as they are a good source of calcium and protein, and are low in sugar.

Salmon

Salmon is considered a healthy food due to its low fat and high protein intake. Protein can help the gums to rejuvenate as it is essential for repairing damaged muscle tissue around the body. It also has vitamin D which helps the body absorb calcium allowing for healthy teeth and bones.

Carrots

Carrots are good for a number of reasons, especially when eaten raw. Their crunchy texture can help clean your teeth by acting as a natural toothbrush. The chewing action can also help massage the gums and improve health and blood circulation. Keratin and vitamin A are also present in this vegetable that can help restore tooth enamel.

Soft meat

Any kind of lean meat like chicken is good as a source of protein for your teeth and gums. It's also an excellent source of phosphorus, a type of nutrient mineral that helps with bone production and rebuilding. Without phosphorus, teeth are more prone to chipping, even if you have plenty of calcium and vitamin D in your diet.

Celery

Celery works similarly to carrots as a natural toothbrush and helps clean teeth. It also has an excellent combination of vitamin K and calcium. Vitamin K helps to transport calcium throughout the body. Celery can also help fight gingivitis and increase saliva production.

Green Tea/Black Tea

Green and black tea can help remove dental plaque and reduce tooth decay, which is great for any mouth. Tea is also a natural source of fluoride which helps strengthen enamel.

Water

Last, but certainly not least, water is the best drink for your teeth as well as for hydrating your body. During the day, bacteria can build up in your mouth and drinking water can help your saliva to replenish and bring your mouth to a normal PH level. As it is not acidic, it has no chance of damaging your teeth unlike other soft drinks and beverages.
