BASIC LANGUAGE PROBLEMS

Although it is often described as "the strongest muscle in the body", the language consists of a muscle group that allow us to taste food, swallow and talk. Ea healthy language is pink and covered with small nodules called papillae.

 

Because you use your tongue all the time, it can be frustrating and uncomfortable when you are faced with language problems, including decolorization and the pain. There are many causes for certain common Symptoms language. Fortunately, most language problems are not serious and can be solved quickly.

 

In some cases, however, a discoloured tongue may indicate more serious situations, such as vitamin deficiencies, AIDS or oral cancer. For this reason, it is important to ask for medical advice if you have problems with your language.

 

What causes a white tongue?

There are many things that can cause white coating or white spots on the tongue, such as:

 

  • Lefkoplakia. This condition causes the cells in the mouth to grow excessively. This, in turn, leads to the formation of white patches inside the mouth, including the tongue. Although not dangerous in itself, leukoplakia can be a precursor to cancer. Therefore, it is important for your dentist to determine the cause of white patches on your tongue. Leukoplakia can develop when the tongue is irritated and is often found in people who use tobacco products.

 

  • Candidiasis. Η candidiasis is an infection caused by a type of fungus (yeast) belonging to the genus Candida. There are more than 20 species of Candida fungus, which is why candidiasis can occur in different parts of the body and with different symptoms. Among them, the most common species is Candida Albicans. The condition leads to white patches on the surfaces of the mouth and tongue. Oropharyngeal candidiasis is most commonly found in infants and the elderly, especially in users dentures or in people with a weakened immune system. People with diabetes and people taking inhaled steroids for asthma or lung disease can also get oropharyngeal candidiasis. It is more likely to occur after using antibiotics, which can kill the "good" bacteria in the mouth. Eating plain yogurt with live and active cultures can help with recovery in your mouth. In addition, medications can be used to fight the infection.

 

  • The smooth lichen. It is a common, pruritic, inflammatory disease of the skin, mucous membranes (e.g. mouth) and hair follicles.. A network of raised white lines on your tongue with a lacy appearance may be an indication of this condition. Doctors often can't pinpoint its cause, but it usually improves on its own. There are some things you can do that may help: Practice good dental hygiene, avoid tobacco, and reduce foods that irritate your mouth.
